Church stage sizes that work

Every stage is built from the same 4x4 ft aluminum deck, so you start with the layout you need now and add decks later. These are the four layouts churches order most, with the package that fits each one.

From $4,299

Pulpit plus two or three musicians

An 8x12 ft platform (six decks, 96 sq ft) gives a speaker room to move with a keyboard and an acoustic player beside them. Add railings and skirting with the 8x12 package deal at $4,999.

From $7,908

Worship band

A 12x16 ft stage (12 decks, 192 sq ft) holds a four or five piece band with vocalists up front. Go to 12x20 at $9,435 if the drummer needs a full kit behind them.

From $14,449

Band plus choir

16x20 ft (20 decks, 320 sq ft) or 24x16 ft (24 decks, 384 sq ft, $15,096) fits the band and a choir row. Order the choir decks at the next height up and you have a riser built in.

$7,199 package

Portable church, weekly setup

Churches that set up in a school gym every Sunday take the 8x16 package with railings and skirting, plus rolling carts so two volunteers can move it.

How to choose a church stage

Five decisions cover almost every sanctuary install. Get these right and the stage disappears into the room, which is the goal.

Height and sightlines

16 in is enough for a flat floor with rows of chairs. 24 in keeps the worship team visible from the back of a sanctuary with pews. Every inch of height adds a foot of ramp run if you add the ADA ramp, which is why most churches stop at 24 in.

Surface

Every deck ships with a black anti-slip top that reads as a finished stage on camera and hides scuffs. Carpet can be laid over it for a warmer look, and the decks come up clean afterwards.

Skirting

Skirting hides cables, cases and the legs, and it is the single cheapest upgrade in how the stage looks on a livestream. Package deals include it. It attaches without tools.

Steps, railings and the ramp

Steps go on the side the band enters from. Railings belong on any edge the team stands near with their backs turned. If someone using a wheelchair reads scripture or plays, add the ADA ramp.

Power and cable runs

Plan where the snake and the power come up before you set the decks. Running them under the stage and out through the skirting keeps the walkways clear.

Storage

Decks stack flat and the legs nest, so the stage stores in a closet or a corner of the gym. If you tear down weekly, tell us and we spec rolling carts into the quote.

What is included

Stage kits

4x4 ft aluminum-framed decks with the anti-slip top, four adjustable legs per deck, trussed side braces that lock the decks into one platform, and the leveling feet. Rated 2,600 lb per deck evenly distributed (800 kg per square meter).

Package deals

Everything in the kit plus railings for the back and sides, a set of steps with handrails, and black skirting cut to the platform. The three package sizes are 8x12, 8x16 and 12x24. Other sizes are quoted as packages on request.

Free freight anywhere in the continental U.S. on every stage order. Two-year limited warranty in writing. Churches can pay by purchase order, card, ACH or on our in-house payment plan.

Set up before Sunday

No tools, no bolts. Two people build it section by section, and the full sequence is on video so your volunteers can watch it before the decks arrive.

1

Place the legs

Set four legs per deck and screw-adjust each one so the section sits level on an uneven floor.

2

Slide in the sides

The trussed side frames slide together by hand and lock the decks into one rigid platform with less bounce.

3

Drop on the deck

Drop the anti-slip deck on and move to the next section. Add railings, steps and skirting last.

Staging supplied to teams at SoFi Stadium, Bowlero, SeaWorld, Wayne Township School District and Castle Park, and to churches and houses of worship across the continental U.S.

Church stage questions

What size stage does a five-piece worship band need?

12x16 ft is the usual answer: drums at the back, keys and bass to the sides, two vocalists up front. If you also run a full drum kit with a cage, go to 12x20.

What about a 30-person choir?

A choir of 30 needs roughly 200 sq ft on risers. Two rows of 8x24 decks at two different heights, behind a 12x16 band stage, is the layout we quote most often.

How much weight can the stage hold?

Each 4x4 deck is rated for 2,600 lb evenly distributed, about 164 lb per square foot, so a full band with backline and a choir are well inside the rating.

Can we set it up and tear it down every week?

Yes. Portable churches do exactly that. Order rolling carts with the stage and two people can move and store it after the service.

Does it work on a carpeted sanctuary floor?

Yes. The leveling feet spread the load and the adjustable legs take up any unevenness. On a finished gym floor most churches lay a mat or carpet strip under the feet.

Can we use it outdoors for an Easter or Christmas service?

Yes. The aluminum frame does not rust and the screw-adjust legs level each section on uneven ground. Set the decks at 16 in or 24 in and add skirting.

When would we get it?

Tell us your service date on the quote form and we confirm timing the same business day, before you order.

Is there a warranty?

Every stage carries a 2-year limited warranty in writing covering defects in materials and workmanship.
